Majesty: Fantasy Kingdom Sim App Reviews

THE BEST APP!!!

This is probably the best app out there. I have been supportive of this game ever since it came out on PC. I got the majesty northern expension and still love this game. There needs to be more apps like this. Great in detail and very smooth. The only problem I would like to be fix in this app Is to be able to see the workers working/repairing on the building like it does on the PC I use to love to watch them fix or build a building. Plus I can tell how long they are to get to that building instead of the building being delayed on being built on by invisible forces. This app is the best bc you can see the characters moving around, fighting and buying. If u like clash of clans you will love this app. You can also build your own town and upgrade your building. Pls keep the updates coming. Surely love this app.

Great game but broke on iPad mini retina

I loved thus game, and gave it 4-5 stars on the ipad 3. On the mini, the button layout got borked, the heroes were rendered too small to tap, and the fonts were unreadably small. I expected it to drop in size by about ten percent based on the physical size, but this appears more like it is missing retina mini artwork. If they fix that, it will go back to 4-5 stars, since the gameplay is great, very much like the desktop version.

Resolution problems for iPad mini 2

Works on iPad mini but resolution issues...too small. Works great on large iPad and on iPhone. The sequel to this game has no resolution issues on iPad mini. I hope they fix this because I love using my iPad mini with retina for my more serious games while the big iPad I use for work and online matches.

Ive played this game for 100+ hours.

Awesome RPG.

Seriously? So disappointing.

Whoever gave these stellar reviews have either played the game before or have it on iPad. The tutorial is completely insufficient, the controls are awkward, the menus are vague, and the type font is much, much, MUCH too small on iPhone. It also hasnt been updated for almost two years. Unacceptable. Totally ridiculous. Disappointing and deleted.

Fonts too small to read

Could not play...

Awesome!!!

Awesome PC game now on mobile devices. Superb classic pixel graphics and very interesting gameplay.

Frustrating

Most of the font is far to small to read well. The rest is even smaller. The tutorial is poorly designed. I cant rate the gameplay because I didnt make it far enough to do so with accuracy

Great but not perfect (edited)

This is like the original Warcraft, only you cant control exact units and you dont get gold from mines. Yet, it works. Not without problems... You must strategically build your village, then kingdom based on what units you have. These units then wander around of their own free will and generally attack when needed. This makes it easier to control for small screens, but if you want them to go more aggressive, you kind of have to offer rewards to them...and once they are on, it is nearly impossible to call retreat when enemies ambush them. The font telling what happened is ➖way➖ too small. The general information is vague and takes time to learn what does what. (I still havent figured some of it out and I played through the tutorial.) The AI isnt great. Rangers tend to be the worst at kamakazi tactics. Even though they are ranged, they let the enemy get up right in their faces and they dont back down. There are balance issues. If you dont get warriors or paladins out quickly, you lose. But I enjoy it so far. This is a pretty good strategy game. It is the most like a classic Warcraft that I have yet played that allows you to be offline when you play. This is good news for iPod users and people who dont always want their data plan being used.

Great strategy game

I love this game! I actually think its pretty balanced because if you can keep wizards alive long enough, they become super powerful

Majesty

Great game!

Almost Legendary (Note Quite)

This is a port of a game I used to play on PC, a few improvements have been made but as usual its dumbed down. This would have been a fantastic port of the old fantasy real time strategic sim builder with heroes running around on their own RPG-like grind to level up and get gold. Pros: Humorous and entertaining fantasy plots, improved artistic styling for the warrior of discord and Paladin heroes, engaging kingdom building sim with monsters vs the kingdom, good old original soundtrack. Buildings no longer require builders, they just build automatically, slower the more repairs and building is at hand. Wizard tower spells are not limited to a spell radius around magic towers. Pro and Con: same old autonomous AI heroes, yet fun diverse classes/guilds with specialized spells, skills and equipment. Some RTS players will hate and be frustrated by the autonomous AI controlled heroes while others may find it liberating and entertaining as I did with the original. Cons: Biggest pet peeve and sim sin of all, YOU *blank, insert curse* limited the number of heroes and buildings; only 20 heroes!! I used to enjoy playing after victory as well, covering the playable area in buildings watching heroes get up to level 600 something over night, no kidding. The overall artistic style and details of the original game are dulled or lost to the cartoony puerile superficial App Store style so common in modern fantasy games, however the original detail would be to much to be displayed properly on the mobile phone screens and I prefer. Rangers have been so nerfed a sewer rat eats them for lunch right out of the box; I just dont use them. Wizards much as before, even above level 20 are overpowered killing machines until a goblin sneezes and then they die, especially if that sneeze is a projectile. Tax collectors shouldve been replaced by an automatic tax collection event over intervals of time just as the builders were only implied and replaced by an automatic construction process. I never understood why elves and dwarves were limited to 2 or three per guild; why not 4 like the others? The names for heroes and buildings are fixed and cant be changed like they could in the original. Random hero names/titles are bad, and there are so few that often I will get the same name for 2 or more heroes. As in the original, heroes have a sex assigned with their class; I would prefer random sex assignment for each hero hired with a unique sex-specific animated look and portrait for each class, even if its a tall order it would add a lot more diversity and character. Rogues, rogue guilds, cultists with temple to Fervous and spells, magic bazaars with potions, outposts, gambling halls, elven lounges, gnome heroes, embassies, monks with temple to Dauros and spells, poison/healing herbs, bosses, many monster types and lairs, temple to Lunord heroes and spells, temple to Solaris heroes and spells, all are removed. Why take out so friggin much? Bring some stuff back. In conclusion, its a good little app if you like the original, but be prepared to eat some of the old and new drivel that comes with the game. Probably worth the price, just dont even bother with the demo-like free money pit version if you want the game except to get a taste.

Now Optimized for New Devices

In spite of the patch notes that say” “minor bug fixes,” this app is now optimized to run at full screen on the iPhone 5/6/6+. It looks fantastic on my enormous phablet, and the gameplay is as good as ever. Pick this one up. There’s nothing else like it on the App Store.

Yooo

I give this game 4 stars! Its addictive and fun! The only thing I wish is that you could control the soldiers better and build walls! Other than that its a great game and I love it!

Wonderful

I was a huge fan of the old Majesty fantasy kingdom sim games on the PC. The mobile version, while somewhat simplified, remains true to the source material and what made the original fantasy so fun and unique. This isnt a game with Majesty slapped on - it is a faithful interpretation on a mobile platform. Its a blast, addicting and fans will not be disappointed.

Troll?

How is that a troll it is huge

Overly Sentimental

I just found this game. I used to play it as a kid all the time, and the developers did it justice on the mobile version too. Good work

Enjoyable

Traditionally I prefer turn based strategy. But this is one fun game.

Even after years I still enjoy!

Ive played through all the quests several times now. Still trying to beat all on bloodthirsty without buying extra. Love playing.

Great game

Never played this on the computer when it originally came out. As a first-time player, this is a ton of fun. The touch screen controls work really well and its a great 30 minute gaming session.
